Vintage Fair

This week is reading week for uni, so no lectures or classes! This means lots of catching up on coursework and not much time for anything else. It's been a week since my last post so I have decided to take a little break and let you see what i got up to last week. The town centre of Aberdeen was busy and bustling with the arrival of the international market at the weekend. A regular occurence here, yet I always feel excitement from the buzz of cultural diversity. Walking from one end of the market to the next makes me feel like i'm in a different city!

 

 

Last weekend I also attended a vintage fair! I had been looking forward to this for a while so on the day I was a very excited bunny! I went with my mama and my little sisters, so a bit of a girly, family day out. Planning ahead I knew i'd be doing a lot of walking around so decided to go for a quite natural and comfortable outfit. I wore my white knitted tunic with leggings and my white converse style high tops. I added a touch of character with my aztec print cardigan and fabulous fur collar (taken and re used from my jane norman blazer!)

 

 

 

 

The fair was right up my street and I enjoyed seeing all the stalls and having a good rummage! Lots of furs and dresses, as well as bags and quirky accessories. Even teasets and jewellery and a yummy vintage popcorn machine! Pretty much something for everyone! I could have very easily got carried away and bought everything!..but I am trying to save, so therefore behaved! My sister kindly helped me get lots of photos on the day to share with you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There was a make up artist there too and my mum volunteered me for a free vintage makeover by Rachael Ashcroft. I got my eyes done all smokey and retro. I loved it and just so happened to be going out that night too - bonus!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So yeah, I basically had a great day and can't wait for the next one! I will definitely be spending heaps next time! Last week we also carried out our second photo shoot for uni. It was a vintage themed shoot so seems appropriate to mention it here. I even did the make up for the stunning Hannah below. It was 1920's elegance, flapper dresses and headpieces.
