It's A Spring Thing

.
Right now it's all about spring! The beginning of warmer weather and time to ditch the layers for a brighter, lighter and happier wardrobe. For this post I just want to share a few of my recent purchases and what I've been up to on the fashion front. I got my first tattoo recently and I absolutely love it. I've wanted a swallow for so long and decided to have it done for my 21st birthday. The swallow is an old school tattoo that sailors used to get. For me it symbolises freedom, happiness and a new stage in my life! Tradionally, the swallow never flies too far away from home and I liked that because family is really important to me and no matter where I go in life I know I'll always have them to come home to.

I have bought quite a few pieces lately but in the spirit of spring savings, I'm going to share with you my top 3 finds for updating your wardrobe this season. All found in Primark and all under £10, perfect on a student budget.

     1. Sunglasses, £2.00

The round lenses are bang on trend and the mirrored style is a new take on the usual black shades. They look far more expensive than they are. The anchor necklace is by Divine Trash and was bought at London Fashion Weekend, T shirt by Topshop.

2. White clutch, £8.00

I am really enjoying white right now and love the gorgeous studded detail. A nice addition to your spring accessory collection and it's a great size too. Plenty of room for your make up on a night out!

3. Pink Plimsoles, £4.00.

The pastel pink colour is perfect this season and will  go great with all your summer clothes. I wore mines with my Topshop denim skirt and a pair of tights in the evening. Wear them with bare legs and a pair of white pop socks on a sunny day.

Another big trend at the moment is Sport Luxe and on the high street fashion trainers are everywhere! My boyfriend bought me this lovely little New Balance pair that I had been after for a while. The bright blue and yellow will add colour to any outfit and they really can be worn with anything. Mix and match with dresses, jeans, shorts and skirts for endless spring looks!

Foot Asylum, £65.00

This week at uni I've been working on my group fashion brand Camden Designs so been quite busy meeting with design students in the Art school and making final preparations for our presentation. It's quite an exciting project and  the aim is to launch a new collection called 'Elite' with  us providing the business side of things eg, marketing, advertising, promoting, social media.  If you want to find out more please like us on facebook. www.facebook.com/camdendesigns

Finally, here's what I'm wearing this week.

Shirt, Zara £29.99. Cardigan, New Look £15.00. Watch, Michael Kors, £214.00.
Bracelets, ChloBo.

Crop Top, Urban Outfitters £18.00. Skirt, H&M £14.99.

London Fashion Weekend

Hey guys! This post is long overdue and I do apologise but even though it was a over a month ago now I must post on London Fashion Weekend. I was lucky enough to fly down to London for a few days with some people from my course. I got to check out the event at Somerset House and attend a trend catwalk show which was amazing! Of course there was some time spared for shopping and as well as Oxford Street and the centre, I spent an afternoon at Camden Market which is possibly my new favourite place! It was my first time in London and I completely fell in love with the city. There is something very surreal about the atmosphere and I got a taste for the lifestyle which I will perhaps adopt in the future. I will definitely be planning some more trips there soon!

The catwalk show at LFW featured the four main trends that are due to make an appearance this season. These looks were Graphic Art, Urban Life, Eastern Promise and Dolls House. It was presented to us by Zoe Hardman and showcased looks styled by Hilary Alexander.

The key things to look out for S/S 2013 are monochrome as featured in Graphic Art. Don't be afraid to wear it on a larger scale incorporating reds and blues in to your Black and whites to really stand out.  A quirkier take on typical workwear as shown in Urban Lifestyle. Eg Pinafores (which are already everywhere and are a staple buy this season!) Bold prints and kimono style fabrics as inspired by the East! As well as lots of lace, florals and perfect pastel shades to bring out the girly girl in you as featured in Dolls House.

This video I took on the day shows the Eastern Promise trend on the catwalk.

One of my favourite buys were these sunglasses (left) I got them for just £6.00 at Camden Market!

Leicester Square was so beautiful and visiting the Topshop flagship store was another highlight. I must have spent around 3 hours in there and then proceeded to go back the next day to spend some more! I have well and truly fallen for LDN and can't wait to go back!

Lots of Love
